What is Curviloft?
Curviloft is a powerful SketchUp extension designed to create lofts, skins, and smooth surfaces by connecting contours. It’s a favorite among SketchUp users who want advanced modeling tools beyond the basics.
- Loft by Spline: Joins open or closed contours smoothly with splines.
- Loft along Path: Creates surfaces by following a path curve.
- Skinning: Generates surfaces bounded by 3 or 4 contiguous contours.

How to Download Curviloft for SketchUp
Curviloft used to be free, but now most Fredo6 plugins are paid. However, older versions are still available legally and can be very useful if you don’t want to spend money. If you’re searching for cracks, license keys, or ways to bypass payment, I don’t recommend it—not only is it illegal, but often unsafe and unreliable.
Instead, you can download a free older version of Curviloft here: Curviloft 1.3a
Also, you need the LibFredo6 extension installed for Curviloft to work correctly. Download it here: LibFredo6 8.7m
Where to Find Curviloft in SketchUp
Curviloft is not built into SketchUp by default. After installing, you’ll find it under: Tools > Fredo6 Collection > Curviloft...
The latest version (2.0a) is available with a 30-day trial on the SketchUcation plugin store: SketchUcation Curviloft page
How to Install Curviloft
You have two options:
- Unzip the files and copy Fredo6_Curviloft.rb and Fredo6_Curviloft folder to your SketchUp plugins directory.
-
Or rename the ZIP file you downloaded to
.rbz
and install via SketchUp's Extension Manager (Window > Extension Manager).
Repeat the same process for the LibFredo6 extension and restart SketchUp.

hi, when i try to install the extension through the extension manger, it pops up with a warning saying "Failed to install Fredo6_curviloft extension.rbz" ive unzipped the file, copied and pasted it into the plugin file and renamed it to .rbz but it isnt working. any advice?
ReplyDeletemanually copy past the folders in your plugins folder, it should work fine, no need to rename the zip file to rbz, just extract and and move the content to the plugins folder
DeleteHello! I cannot install the rb file as it still stays as rb and not rbz (I don't know if there are difference) but it won't show up if I try to install it through the extension manager.
ReplyDeleteI also tried pasting the files to the plugins folder, but nothing changed, and it doesn't appear on my extensions.
Hello, RBZ is just a zip file that contains the RB extension file and folders, so if it's an rbz you can rename it to zip and extract the content and place manually in the plugins folder, if it's an rb with folders zip em and rename to .RBZ, this applies to any extension.
DeleteHello! I cannot install it from the extension manager because it won't appear as an rbz file but only as an rb file. Also tried pasting the files to the plugins folder but it also doesn't work. Please help, I really need to use the curviloft :<
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the article you can find .rbz version of Curviloft, 1.6a and 1.8a should work fine, you need to install the corresponding Libfredo version.
